Christ the King

 B. Rosenkavalier from Garsington. The interfaith session Lifting the Lid went really well. I spoke about John East. A very rich experience. Strictly. I was at the closing session too and dipped into a couple of discussions. It's been amazing!

Monday what a day! Swam 20. Worked steadily with Jack on the history video but it is very slow adding photos and editing. Colette's meeting at 1 was good and heard about Saturday's Southwark J and P. The committee meeting decided to go ahead with Nov 28th. Rizwan spoke far too much and basically dominated Prem who was in the chair. I dissented with Balbir. I have changed Eventbrite and dealt with emails. Let's hope that is the end of it. I don't think we have the people to deliver this and a hybrid zoom as well. The ACTA meeting was interesting. Jack's bill has gone right up. Finished with Julian and he did apologise to me. University challenge, Masterchef. Tired!

Up early and emailed Prem who wrote back that the only reason he stayed on the committee was me! Nice chat to Ann. Government guidelines now say that you should take a lateral flow-test before visiting busy places so I have sent this advice for those booked in on Sunday. Some have already cancelled - hopefully there will be a zoom at the same time.
The funeral of Sir David Amess MP from the cathedral was most impressive. The boys sang beautifully. Essex interfaith zoom meeting mirrored much of what has been going on here. Why do some people want to dominate discussions and not listen to other viewpoints? Dialogue becomes impossible when trust breaks down. Too much of understanding is about the externals of a faith and not about core beliefs which we often share in common! Putting seeds into packets. Quiet time. Last creation session at SMITF. Sarah rang so I rang her back. When she said it was presumptuous to contact the headmistress I was furious and terminated the call. This is the second time a call from her has really upset me and resignation is now inevitable. Bake off, Joe Sugg on Who do you think you are.

Wednesday to Bromley and Liz had arranged for us to park at the parish church. Marks bra fitting. I eventually found the cafe and had croissant and cappuccino. To fitting rooms and bought 2 pairs of trousers. To South Croydon to collect Connie's packets of seeds. Again the address was not signposted!! Meditation and tea on return. Wrote to Alan Gadd about resigning. Sion centre but the American presenter's voice about Luke really grated on my ear. I seem to be particularly irritable! Alan suggested delaying resignation and seeing if something could be worked out until the AGM. He commented that the 40 years would not have been achieved if I had not stepped in as chair. Did labels for the seed packets. The Laudato Si meeting was great and 2 newcomers including Axel teacher from Newham. Minutes done. Replied to Tony Hemson's long email. Sandra wins again with the first Christmas card! Lovely calendar from Ann and Paul.

Thursday all set for art and car would not start. Did carols poster. Liz had her hair cut and she cut mine. When the rescue guy came the car started. He did change the fuse and I was able to pump up the tyres but then the dashcam did not work! That fuse has failed twice. Excellent schools presentations from 8 schools FTIC. Of course no painting or playing the piano! Still doing things for Sunday - Rizwan has now messed up the programme with his original ideas. My 2 videos better be shown! I drew up draft guidelines for the committee if I do carry on. To Timpsons and got a lifetime gaurantee watch battery and he fixed the day of the week function too. Very long wait for Liz's prescription for flouride toothpaste. To Prem's to take the packets of seeds and we had a lovely chat over tea. Then to Macdermotts for delicious fish and chips. Fell asleep watching woodworkers. Misty won.
