Botswana June 2017

My notes are in the second Metropolitan museum of art notebook. I have put all the photos and videos on Face Book with captions. A lifetime ambition to visit the Okavango and this really was the best holiday ever. Monday 6, swam, Mass, Liz had hair cut, packed and left home 4.15 drove to Hetahrow terminal 2. Needed level 4 of parking not 3 eventually handed over car. There was later an extra charge as date of return was incorrectly recorded. SAA excellent service and food 2 gin and tonic. Slept quite a bit and reading George Eliot. Sound on headphones not great. Watched Norm polar bear cartoon. Rev enact not to my taste. Landed on time in Joburg at 8 a.m. Wait for SAA flight to Maun quite cool. Smaller plane noisy Americans. Maun very small and queue for immigration outside. Met and small Cessna 6 seater plane to Shikare. Vast views over landscape, 2 elephants as we came in to land. Killor our guide and Charlotte Rob's wife met us. Surprised to find nobody else joining us! game drive to Moremi reserve South gate saw elephant, giraffe, impala, kudu, bustard, warthogs, slender and dwarf mongoose, lots of birds, ostrich. Met Rob at the camp gin and tonic and a great chat about Upper Norwood. Large tent and comfy bed, good meal. Bed at 9. Must read A marriage of inconvenience about the Khamas.
