Rio to Iguassu

In the night there was a thunderstorm and laptop not working at all - it was quite hot. 6.25 breakfast and left at 7 to airport. Got window seat LAN flight to Iguassu. Lovely hotel Cataractes very near falls and in the national park on Brazilian side. Walked down but Liz bitten by caterpillar so she went to have that treated and bandaged but it was not poisonous and met her at the elevator. Plastic camera cover wotked well. Snack lunch then on boat trip which was great - got very wet and cold - glad I wore swimsuit and shirt. Lovely views saw coatis, birds, lizards. Swam in lovely pool at sunset as had costumes on. Excellent buffet dinner. Yet another birthday cake in the room!
Tuesday 29th to Argentinian border (delay) then to Devil's throat walk then train - fantastic. Saw kingfisher, large fish, butterflies, birds. Decided not to do other walk lunch and bought a broad brimmed hat. Needed the rest. Back to Brazilian side to visit bird park - very good and many species never seen anywhere else eg harpy eagles, screamers, toucans, huge macaw aviary. Swam and watched sunset from the tower. Buffet dinner at hotel. The local guide Jose very good and paid for DVD of boat trip.

Vigil

 Saturday a memorable day. SM walk in Muswell Hill. To Parliament and met up with Kate, Lyn and Graham. So many people and buggies! The tourist trade has clearly revived. Glad I took my chair and the 2 hours went quickly. Ecological Stations and Rosary and Laudate Deum meditation. William Rhind and animators came. Sean and Ciaran came and Louise and Tom went to a party in Coulsdon. We went to Mass and I spoke to the lady from CAFOD. Petition nearly at 1000! Sunday Lent 1 Played Demessieux on Attende domine which Linda and I sang. Prelude and fughetta Franck. A mosy enjoyable family lunch at Westow House. Lamb and lemon posset. Had a sleep! Evensong Howells Like as the hart. Wierd hymn Christian dost thou see them to St Andrew of Crete by Dykes. Throwdown was good. Ben Fogle in the Congo. Antiques roadshow.
