Too many penguins

Swam 24. I was up early so did some Google research on Francis Clooney. To Wimbledon Polka theatre for pannini. At first Ciarán was hesitant but once he settled down he really enjoyed the show which was very cleverly done. Afterwards we had a couple of stories and a play in the park. Came home on buses and tram. Watched Come dine with me and Choir of the year 2012.

Bishop of Kingston

Worked on essay from seminar. To St John Waterloo for Isaiah community service including address by Revd Richard Cheetham Bishop of Kingston on Justice, Islam and Christianity - he saw friendship as central and took a trinitarian view. Commended "Meeting God in friend and stranger". Siriol introduced me to him and also met Stephen a black teacher from Clapham. Giles the vicar was friendly - lovely church with fine paintings. To Acton. Wednesday took Ciarán to Amandas and Louise came too. It was wet and I had forgotten my umbrella. Had a look in the church on Turnham Green after we had been to Starbucks. To Polka theatre for "Treasure" and it was very well done with no dialogue and using blue household objects. I got underground to cathedral and 13 came to the interfaith group including Katharina Muller. We discussed Prayer and worship. To 64 Whitehall for the freedom of religion debate. Rabbi Julia Neuberger and Bishop Nazir-Ali spoke really well.

Found the hearing aids next to the front garden path so that's a relief. 7 of us at coffee before the lecture and general moaning about the length of Taylor - I am doing well as some have only read 50 pages and I am at 506! The lecture from Damian was encouraging and ended with some thoughts about multifaith which made me realise that it might be worthwhile after all. We were also handed an assessment form which needs to be honestly completed by all of us! For the first time I actually commented in the lecture - lecture 10 and I finally get to speak! To Acton and watched a bit of Treasures of heaven film. Bed at midnight and woke at 6 a.m. Ciarán had a great time opening his presents and loved the IKEA kitchen we gave him (Louise and Tom assembled it on Tuesday night). Dennis gave him 2 wooden engines and he loved those. We all went to Wimbledon and had lunch at the Polka theatre cafe and enjoyed "The ugly duckling" beautifully performed and danced by 2 actors. He liked...

Liszt and Stravinsky and the Polka theatre

Tuesday's prom was splendid. Took the car to Acton and babysat Ciarán while Liz and Lou shopped. Had a great time running in his bedroom On your marks get set Go! But sometimes he just went No! London Phil cond Jurowski with scores. Kodaly Dances of Galanta, Bartok Piano concerto No. 1 which makes much use of percussion, Liszt Dante symphony with chorus and an excellent tenor. Loved it! Wednesday to Polka theatre Wimbledon - Ciarán loved all the playground and a rocking dolphin. The show was about archaeology and worms and they ended up playing with sand and having a great time. Had lunch there. Drove around the common and tennis club but no sign of a playground so back to Acton as he had dropped off. He had great fun in their pool and Liz cut back the hedges and ivy. Took car to Albert Hall and paid for parking. No scores! Berlioz Corsaire, Faure Pavane, Pascal Dupasin piece for quartet and orchestra interesting and Firebird with exciting ending. Offstage trumpet had a monitor so...
