Had a lie-in. Sparkling playing from Jonathan Allsopp at Bloomsbury Baptist. Hollins, Bach Passacaglia, Bliss. Fr John at Mass. Des was a waste of space again. Watched Still open all hours. 

To Hurtado centre Wapping for meditation on Mary Mother of mercy then St George's cathedral Southwark for Your Catholic legacy Mass, nice lunch and talk by the Mizens. Met a Catenian and a potential Catenian. Arcbishop Peter Smith walked off when I was talking to the Mizens but saw him later. To the Jewel house Westminster and Painting with light at Tate Britain and watched the dancers in the Duveen gallery. Fr Quaqoe at Mass. To Big iftar at West London synagogue - lovely food and saw Rabbi Neuberger and met several people.  Played Bliss Royal fanfares (which we had at our wedding!)  Thomas Hewitt Jones  Fanfare for Queen's 90th, Moore Nobilmente and Crown Imperial which was much appreciated as was Lead me Lord. Practised with 3. Evensong at St John Upper Norwood marking RSCM Music Sunday Howells Collegium Regale Britten Jubilate Deo When in our music God is glorified. Enjoyed the Royal coverage especially the Weir anthem.

On Friday listened to concert live from the Barbican - Sarah Connolly singing Berlioz Death of Cleopatra and Andrew Davis conducting BBC in Bliss Morning Heroes - such a shame I could not make out a single word! I once got Sir Arthur's autograph at the Albert Hall and told him his Royal Fanfares were played at our wedding (twice! because they were waiting for Fr Benedict from Ealing who didn't come!)

To Bloomsbury Baptist for excellent recital by Tom Bell. Vierne, RVW, Bliss and Elgar at which point I slipped out. There was a very smelly man behind me! Fr Christopher at Mass and he spoke about Mothering Sunday. The Zenobia choir from Madrid sang Vittoria. We went to Kent House and drove to Langley Park golf club for Beckenham's dinner which was black tie and quite delightful. Delicious lamb and apple crumble - £25 each. Home by 10.45 and clocks go forward an hour.

To Coulsdon and 4 in the choir. We sang "Day by day" by Martin How and "God be in my head". "Praise to the holiest" and I played Angel's farewell from "Dream of Gerontius" to mark Newman's beatification. Waited in car for Liz and listened to a programme about Miss World 1970 and Just a minute. Dennis had sorted his books out so we took those he is keeping up to Glyn Close and they saw Martin next door. We ate in the garden in sunshine probably our last chance this year for that! Mark Elder conducted a prom of the Last night 1910 which featured a new work based on the slow movement of a cello concerto by Vaughan Williams written for Casals called "Dark pastoral" and Elgar Pomp and Circumstance No. 4. Songs of praise was from South Africa. Ulster orchestra prom in tribute to Sir Henry included Bliss and Bax and Rachmaninoff.
