Both to Mass St George's Day, mosaic, 12 at tai chi, to Bishop Thomas Grant school Streatham for first meeting about Catenian public speaking heat for Province 7 in October.To Beckenham circle meeting and Don Donal Mullane became President again. We had delicious duck with cointreau sauce yesterday and finished it off this evening! Came home to find carpets being cleaned. Had to reset my laptop. I have seen 2 people wearing roses today - one of them has a broad Irish accent!

Monday we had a large breakfast after our swim and drove on main roads. We stopped at Pyrga to see the Chapelle Royale. The guide has a sister in Thornton Heath! he was interested to know that we knew who Cosmas and Damian were! Drove through Lekara and found monastery of Agios Minas closed for lunch. Stopped at Kourion beach and at a restaurant overlooking the birthplace of Aphrodite for an ice cream. Got lost in Paphos but eventually found the apartment in Pegeia. Very comfortable on 2nd floor with shared pool and balcony and roof garden. On the Tuesday we had a quiet day and in the evening went to St George's on the coast. Wednesday was mountain driving day and we visited 3 monasteries. St Neophytos lived in caves decorated with wall paintings. At Panayia we visited Moni Khrysorromatissa Our Lady of the Pomegranates. Agias Monia had a fine courtyard and a simpler church. Thursday to Coral Bay beach to meet Grainne, Dino, Tony, Kathleen, Adam, Matthew, Julia and of course Ale...

The day began with a St George's Day broadcast from Windsor with lots of fine music by Sir William Harris. At Coulsdon we sang Darke in E and Ley's "Lo round the throne" which is an excellent anthem very well-crafted. Janice Cockcroft suggested going to Oaks Park on the way to Banstead for my picnic and I sat in the sun enjoying the blossom and flowers. Lovely wisteria and jasmine! The St George's Day parade went well and I played Jerusalem, land of hope and glory and Donald Cashmore's Processional march. On return home Martin from Woodside bereavement service came and we had a good chat about how busy I am and how I need to find a balance and enough rest and quality time with Liz! I spoke to Liz and Dennis on Skype and watched Diane Abbott learning to play the piano on TV. Also highlights of the London Marathon but could not spot Richard Nesbitt! He will be tired tonight - I have sponsored him!
