Clare was off sick so I volunteered for the first ttime ever in the library to read stories to under 5s. I had a large enthusiastic audience many of whom wanted to climb on my lap! They liked the flap books very much and I got the Mums to join in a song at the end. It went well and I enjoyed it. Did more weeding and admin stuff. Last hour in music - run down, untidy and grimy! Saturday Vespers and Mass - Thomas was cantor so I mentioned my email about the gospel acclamation accompanying the procession so we need a short organ impro before the Alleluia starts not the other way round. Edward was giving unclear intonations at vespers again and several strange chords! The men of the Challoner choir ruined Faure Cantique and Mozart Missa brevis. Fr Michael Archer presided. All systems go for St Therese - 1000s have visited her elsewhere including York Minster. Today we celebrated St Francis and sang Boyce Alleluia and Nicholson in C. Cipher beforehand on swell and played Bach Fantasia in C minor. An added bonus was a rare visit from Tim West who is in the Navy. The girls enjoyed their practice and I sorted out 10 pin bowling team and music for Saturday's flower festival. Spoke to Ann, up early and did blog and printed off music for chorus which in fact was incorrect so a waste of time and paper and ink! To dentist and now have 2 top teeth without a gap! £150. Finished off tar on gutter and roof and no sign of leaks. To St Michael's for interesting recital by Maxine Thevenot a Canadian who plays in Albuquerque New Mexico - Preston, Vierne, Mulet, Demessieux and Canadian Denis Bedard. It was good that she introduced the pieces from the loft. Home for stir fry and then to Hinsley room. 9 came for talk by Ross Kempsell about World Youth day in Sydney last July. He said he would speak for 20 minutes but in fact spoke for nearly 2 hours - he was brilliant and so interesting! His mum came too. To chorus to rehearse music for first "Merlin" recording with Debbie Miles-Johnston. To Victoria to meet Mark and Mariana who is charming and glamourous - pizza express. Very nice!

She has Bible study on Wednesday evenings which doesn't always fit with me being available on Wednesday mornings. Mark is there for Easter and planning to come over in July so that will be nice. As always the readings for today are inspiring and the Cardinal was accompanied for 4 priests in red copes. Thomas and Fr Swavek were the cantors. There was an excellent tourn out including lots of cathedral folk. The hymns were supported by brass and members of the Passage carried the cross.
