Christ the King and the 3 men sang Tony Hemson's Alpha and Omega really well. We missed Linda Baker. I played a lovely Prelude on Diademata by Barry Ferguson and Crown Imperial which was much appreciated. Julie came and the flute in the Rutter and Berlioz is magic! I played Howells Psalm prelude Set 1 no 3 as a tribute to Stephen when I was practising. So sad to learn that Colin Mawby had died. Enjoyed Michael Portillo great Australian rail journeys and David Attenborough on Europe's natural highlights. The programme on Fair Isle was excellent. Signed Christmas cards.

Wedding. We packed up at Camberwell at 11 and had a good drive to Healesville. The driving was so much smoother as I had looked up advice on the automatic. The air bnb is a loft at the back of the property.on the Marrondah highway. Very comfy I parked in the carport. We went for a walk into the town initially looking for Coles and found a good jewellers where Liz got garnet ear studs to.match her dress. They are heart shaped. Tammy and Michael Robinson picked us up at 3.45 and we were at Zonzo winery at 4. The ceremony was lovely with Ann and Paul reading the Irish blessing. Sarah looked stunning. We met Lennoxes and the Greek family. I videoed a lot on my phone. The.crowns ceremony was nice. The mothers witness the wedding and Clare had the rings. Then canapes and champagne and an Italian sitdown. Antipasto, pizza, lamb and desert. 140 there lots of Lenoxes and Greek family. Good speeches and great  dancing. Particularly loved Mark's speech and the dance. Finished by 10. Lots of ...

David Dunnett played well at Bloomsbury yesterday - Widor, Buxtehude and Beethoven. I left to get the 24 bus but it never came so tube to cathedral. 4 servers were admitted to the Guild of St Stephen. Liz was home late and I had to be up early for buses. Christ the King we sang Tony Hemson's Alpha and Omega which quotes today's readings. Crown imperial went rather well. Carols practice cut short by baptism. Finished reading Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks -  a great novel. At evensong we sang Brewer in D and RVW Let all the world. Douro river and Porto with the Wests, Cliveden hotel, lions in dynasties. 

For Christ the King played Crown Imperial, Stanley Trumpet voluntary (the organ is being tuned tomorrow) and we sang Tony Hemson's Alpha and Omega which really ought to be published. 2 at carol practice.  Delicious rack of lamb, rice pudding and white wine for lunch. At evensong we sang Wood in E flat and RVW Let all the world. Also a fine hymn Earth's fragile beauties to Kingsfold. Blue planet, Howards End. John Sentanu put dog collar on now Mugabe has gone. Pathetic reply from Iberia. Fr John decided not to appoint either of the candidates yesterday. Hope he has not missed out on a good man. Choir directors do not grow on trees. Johnny is local, 

Up at 6.20 and to vigils and lauds. Gave Liz the special card with our photo and told her about the spa package and champagne tea at the Montcalm. She gave me a lovely card and a lovely ring. Breakfast together and Louise and Tom went picking your own. Mass at 11 a.m. was farewell to Tony Hemson the organist. Only knew one of the Laudate hymns but a good setting by Peter Jones. Blessing for us by Fr Nicholas in St Benedict's chapel and then to the Parish centre but the people even those who had been on pilgrimage with us were not at all friendly! Photos outside and then an excellent carvery lunch at Hedley Lodge.Lovely framed tribute from family and hanging from Carol. Family and Carol left after lunch and had a nice rest and listened to the War Horse prom on radio and after Vespers and Benediction with Dennis the Prom of Strauss and Elgar 2 on TV so missed Compline.
