Discovered a sauna next to the pool which is great! Liz went early to school.I spotted a mobilephone call from the Thornton Heath surgery so rang up to find my healthcheck is postponed as nurse not well so missed Mass and spent day at school library. Saw Anna, Miss Bond and Monica so hopefully meeting with staff in January. Year 2 classes borrowed but system not working well. Hoepfully Anna will be freed to go in at lunchtimes. Classes mess up fiction and Bibles for some reason. To Chislehurst golf club for joint Blackheath/Bromley meeting for Frank Bond with bow ties. Sausage and mash. I got a lot support for my comments on the items in Dec Catena one of which is anonymous. Watched The Apprentice - 2 fired. Thursday to Mass and art - thinking about migrants painting. Julie encouraging me to do figures. Interfaith lunch - Fr Adrian on crutches. Interesting presentation on Gratitude journal. Spoke about the commendation. 

Swam and Mass for Peter and Paul. More library work. 500s in order hard work.  Frida Kahlo at V and A sold out today so went to The future starts here which is fascinating. Model of social housing in our high street! Driverless car, robots doing the laundry, also the worrying invasion of our private lives and freezing bodies. Jamaal prize 5 impressive. A delightful and delicious dinner at St Vincent's school to thank the volunteers. 

Swam 20. To art and the 2 pictures are finished. Left early to get to Acton for Ciaran's Year 2 Nativity. he spoke so clearly and James was good too. They sang well. I helpeds et out the PTA tea with Louise.  Home in time to change and drive to Bernard's in Bromley for lift with Vincent to Sevenoaks/South London joint. Presented Vincent with the scroll which took him by surprise. Excellent turkey and strudel and we sang carols including 12 days with actions in groups! Liz enjoyed Olive's 100th. I posted the card she left behind! Home at 11.45.

Slept well Thursday night and set off to Acton. I took Seán to Acton park cafe to play and share a cheese omelette and banana loaf while the house was overrun by dinosaurs, The kids had a great time. In the evening Louise went to her office do and the boys went to bed happily. Mandela tributes were well done and Graham Norton featured Mary Berry and Daniel Ratcliffe. Saturday Louise and Ciaran went to meet Tom back from Sydney. He had seen Ann and Paul and the presents were all opened and much enjoyed. We went to St Vincent's Christmas fair and had hot dog and Irish coffee and mulled wine. Met Helen Emma's Mum. Not impressed at people not listening to the school choir. We served vespers and Mass. Furious with Fr John but I said nothing. He had the second candle lit before Mass because the prayer could not be found and said it was a Protestant tradition. So it is but it is also a cathedral tradition that the candles are lit during Mass! He is always ready to criticise! Fr Paolo...

Wednesday swam 20. To Balham library to return scores and pick up 2 more Britten scores. Posted invites to widows for clergy supper.  Met family at Watermans and Ciaran went to the later session. To Kew to shop. Ciaran went to swimming and Bruce arrived looking well. We had a lovely Thai curry and Beaujolais and seriously chocolate tart. Liz and Bruce came home and I stayed the night so I could babysit Sean while Louise took Ciaran for his first session at St Vincent's which went very well. To Heythrop for conference on ecumenism and interfaith and the Eastern churches - interesting. Donations to library and book returned to Michael, Good to see Rocco and Andrew and met some people. To meditiatio and sat in the garden and did crossword. Br Patrick Moore spoke on Rolle, Hilton and Julian - very good.
