John Webber played Elgar at St John Goose Green.  I was late as the sign at Peckham Rye is pointing the wrong way. Richard Pilliner there and met Peter Shore pupil of Marilyn's. I have been playing the Vesper voluntaries too fast.  An enjoyable Beckenham President's lunch  at 11 Village Way - Sandy and John O'Sullivan on good form.  he choir of St David's cathedral Cardiff sang Neville, Gibbons and Bainton beautifully at Mass. A long gospel meant I was late at RAH but I could not get in as gallery and arena were full. At least Liz heard it. John now on way home via Kent House. The weekend prom passes and BBC policies mean that this may well happen again. It is not an encouragement to spend £240 on a season if you are not guaranteed entry. Heard a lot of Elgar 1 on radio 3. 

Swam 24. Wrote 3 articles based on my notes from meetings. Liz went to Earlsfield for pedicure. Watched Wolf Hall, good programme on Simon Rattle and Come dine with me and listened to 2 evensongs St John's and Windsor both excellent. To Heythrop to pick up 4 books for the Jerusalem course which Larry issued for me. To Gate picturehouse and met a nice lady as I was early. I must remember not to sit in the back row as people go to the loo and a woman came in late and dumped next to me. The ROH live production was excellent and Bryn Terfel was splendid. Peter Rose, Adrianne Pieczonka and Ed Lyon all most impressive not forgetting Catherine Wyn-Rogers and Michael Kónig. Andris Nelsons quite rightly included the chorusmaster in the lineup for bows. It was quite riveting and no interval! To Acton and Liz picked me up. Wednesday Ciaran was again a bit off with me. Sean was on fine form and shouted out in the silence at music "Was that a fire engine Grandad?" Had lunch at Waterm...

Woke at 3 a.m. fretting over the Lamb of God business. Up early and did programmes for the organ recitals.Liz was at the premiere of MacMillan Mass for the cathedral. Corpus Christi Mass followed by procession and Benediction. I was amazed to see the congregation standing during the blessing! I played Crown imperial. Practised some Purcell and Stanley. The choir sat at the front so no sung psalm. The church was laid out for the Big lunch with a bouncy castle in the side aisle and people turned up in droves. Did get some lunch and then to meet Liz who came to Kent House instead of Selhurst. She got a lift to Mary's and contacted Louise. Neither of us had our phones so an hour was wasted! After stirfry Liz went to Fulham for a silver jubilee server and I went to evensong where we sang Brewer in D and The King shall rejoice. Adrian played Crown Imperial and Bridget did a subtle National anthem version as we came in. Broadcast evensong from St David's cathedral and watched Simon R...

Finished 3 articles on scriptural reasoning and Comparative Theology  - I think SR should be followed up. Listened to choral evensong featuring Purcell from Durham and Songs of praise from St David's cathedral. Second new toilet seat installed. Moving programme from Auschwitz about music in the camps.
