The 33rd Westminster Interfaith peace walk in Tower Hamlets. Started in the Altab Ali park, then to East London mosque (excellent speaker) East London central synagogue (a small congregation who gave us wine) lunch at St Boniface German RC church provided by Sachkhan Nanak Dham. I visited the Open London exhibition at Whitechapel gallery and got the bus to St Benet's chaplaincy at Queen Mary University (this is round and decorated with scenes from Revelation). Guardian Angels RC church is impressive. I did not go on to the Hindu Pragati and the Sikh Gurdwara. Met Liz for tea (she had been at the Marriage event at Vaughn House). We had incense at vespers for the Nativity of John the Baptist and the Worth Abbey consort sang Byrd, Parsons and Tallis really well. An appeal for Mary's Meals. Watched Danielle de Niese programme on women composers and programmes on American impressionists and Iraq.

Woke early 4, 5, 6, 6,30. Got 7.45 train to London Bridge and 43 bus to Muswell Hill. A 30s RC church. The Orthodox synagogue and Rabbi David Mason very relaxed  -singing for a newly engaged couple. Back to the RC church for talk by a Quaker and then lunch. Did a drawing of Our Lady of Muswell statue 1928. Walked to Moravian church where Pastor Joachim was very welcoming and then we heard from a Bahai. I was asked to present the gift to the Bahais. Bus 144 to new Islamic cultural centre - lovely place and had eats and a drink. Sarah Thorley got the MBE so passed message to Jon's wife and got train from Hornsey. Fr Q at smoke vespers and Mass. Seems Fr Alexander was unwell last week and said no incense at vespers and morning prayer despite it being Pentecost! Relieved babysitter and Ciaran finally went to bed around 9! Watched Trooping and programme on Elizabeth Taylor's jewellery.

Tuesday no swim as Paul Britton came on Skype. To Bethnal Green and bought calendars and fridge magnets. Conversations for the soul at Christian/Muslim forum with Jeremy Bond and a rather strange lady who was there to promote an interfaith song she has composed. To Vaughan House for Westminster interfaith meeting with |Unity of Faiths three about 2014. To Acton and Liz arrived later from servers council. I was babysitting so Lou and Tom went to pub watching Masterchef and good programme on Wakefield cathedral. Wednesday took Sean to music and he was really responding well. In fact he was good as gold all day! He had a good sleep at lunch time and Liz took Ciaran to swimming. Watched the Zoo.

Tuesday evening to Religions for Peace meeting in the cathedral hall. Rabbi Professor Dan spoke on the 2 state solution for Israel based on the Jewish ethical tradition using Exodus and the Kingdom of God. The questions were tricky and he answered them well. Pity some people made speeches and Bishop John cut them short. Jon Dal Din, Siriol and Alfred Agius were there and Hannah and Margaret. Good turnout. To Acton. Played track with Ciarán and took him to nursery - straight into the garden and the sandpit! To music and Seán is taking more interest and very strong. Louise took a back seat. "Les Miserables" a good film but obviously a stage show. Russell Crowe can't sing but the others certainly can. An od subject for a musical and somewhat sentimental. Found the hearing aids next to the front garden path so that's a relief. 7 of us at coffee before the lecture and general moaning about the length of Taylor - I am doing well as some have only read 50 pages and I am at 506! The lecture from Damian was encouraging and ended with some thoughts about multifaith which made me realise that it might be worthwhile after all. We were also handed an assessment form which needs to be honestly completed by all of us! For the first time I actually commented in the lecture - lecture 10 and I finally get to speak! To Acton and watched a bit of Treasures of heaven film. Bed at midnight and woke at 6 a.m. Ciarán had a great time opening his presents and loved the IKEA kitchen we gave him (Louise and Tom assembled it on Tuesday night). Dennis gave him 2 wooden engines and he loved those. We all went to Wimbledon and had lunch at the Polka theatre cafe and enjoyed "The ugly duckling" beautifully performed and danced by 2 actors.
