Design museum

Swam, Mass, coffee, hearing aid clinic at South Norwood Methodist hall (right one tube full of wax). Awesome playing from Josh Stephens at St Matthew Westminster. His pedalling in Bach Prelude and fugue in D immaculate and looks easy! Lucky Sheffield cathedral! Simon Lole could not come. Beazley awards Design museum. The Kubrick display very crowded. Several of his films I have not seen and would not want to! Loved the architecture display in the Beazley. To Trailfinders to thank Arron and he loves Japan so lots of good ideas. Liz went to the Bach prom and I went to Dulwich meeting. Brendan told us about the new website and leaflets starting with Newman.

War requiem

Swim and Mass. At art finished the Lourdes painting. To Trailfinders where Aaron booked our August trip and we were there 2 hours. Ate at the Trafalgar Square breadline cafe. ENO’s War Requiem. Totally amazing and wonderful to really appreciate the texts, which when taking part sometimes get lost to concentrating on notes. Wonderful singing from all.  Emma Bell, David Butt Philip and Roderick Williams and the production really worked because of its simplicity. Enjoyed Sean's year 1 assembly. To coffee then Tate Modern. If you like weaving Anne Albers is for you but not for me. Jenny Holzer's ideas are intriguing. Spent 2 hours in Christian Marclay's The Clock which is very clever.

Islamic centre

Woke at 6 and wrote first draft of the Christmas letter. To Islamic centre near Ladbroke Grove - we were late and only 4 turned up for the tour. Faheem made is very welcome and we stayed for middday prayers and answered questions. To Kensington High Street Trailfinders to find out about New Zealand and draft tour came this evening. I was acolyte with Ross at broadcast vespers from the cathedral and at Mass of the Immaculate conception. The choir were superb - Parsons Ave Maria, Palestrina Magnificat. The Archbishop gave an excellent homily but it was very hot sitting on the bench. The Apprentice was good but Liz should not have gone! Bruce has arrived!
