Monday to doctor to get ears cleared which was a waste of time. But did get flu jab. Late at mosaic, Hendrika came. To Guys and got replacement hearing aid and no cost but no fitting either. Tuesday a good session with Sr Catherine and walked to Royal  Academy only to find it closed as the Queen was coming. self portraits at Npg. To Bridget Jones baby at Watermans on free tickets and we had Indian dinner. to oil,painting and Liz to council. Wed took S to Tamar and London wetland centre. met Prommer Judith at lunch. to East Dulwich picturehouse for RSC Lear with Sher leading a great cast in good production. Beale was more moving and echoes of Falstaff. Had time to do tyres and petrol - earlier Liz had to get a new battery Fred. Packed and watched Bakeoff.

Swam and returned items to CML then to cathedral for part of funeral. Martin Plunkett was presiding and he was the man I wanted to see about Sunday's vigil! To Sr Catherine and a good discussion then back to CML to get scores. Home in time to let Nick in who sorted my computer - 397 attacks on it. My new card came. Woman next to me put her stuff on the seat and got a place on the rail then lay on the floor for most of it - how selfish is that? Haitink is 87 and 50 years at the Proms conducting 88 in all!

Liz off to Walsingham. Another interesting day started with hearing test at Guys hospital and I should get new improved hearing aids on July 1st. Then to see my spiritual director at Farm Street and a visit to the Royal Academy to see White, black, gold by Keith Coventry and Ann Christopher's drawings. Then to Wellcome collection for States of Mind and Find a voice (both worth seeing). Then Leighton House for pre-Raphaelite drawings from Canada. I'm not that keen on them but some of them could certainly draw! An enjoyable organists crawl in Cambridge. I spent a happy time at the Fitzwilliam - special exhibition on Egyptian and Roman mummies but loved the art. Sadly we could not visit Downing after all. At Wesleyan Methodist the organist did not turn up and in the end I rang the organ tuner to find out how to turn it on. Much better was St Andrew St Baptist and then Sarah Macdonald gave us a treat at Little St Mary's on the Tickell. Best of all OLEM organ wiht Nigel Kerry a...
