Very good breakfast at IKEA and we found a dining room table. Now we need to dispose of our large one. To St John's for delightful Ensemble 26 concert Leclair, Schubert and Beethoven violin sonata. Nice chat to Ellie Fagg the violinist. Eleanor Meynell the pianist and Laurence her husband who sing in the Monteverdi choir. Brexit and USA making travel for musicians very difficult.  To Brook Green for the annual dinner of the Arch confraternity of St Stephen a good meal and excellent speech from Archbishop Bernard Longley who has to be my favourite bishop!  Enjoyed my swim this morning. Another builder came to look at our damp problems and garden wall. THis one actually went on the extension roof and reported water lying up there. 

More reading and a bit daunted by the seminar article for next week! To Brook Green for the annual dinner of the Archconfraternity of Saint Stephen with Archbishop Vincent as principal guest. He made sure he greeted everyone personally. Fish pie and a good white Chardonnay. We sat with Canon Danny Cronin who proved to be excellent company and Catenians from Ware. In fact a lot of Catenians were present! The Archbishop gave an excellent speech. We got a cab to Acton which was great and quick as it was cold. Saturday Liz off to Heythrop for Mass celebrated by the new Principal. The heating went down but was fixed after lunch. We went to Acton library and had lunch at a nice cafe and did some shopping. Louise and Ciarán came on the train to Gunnersbury. I was able to do a lot of reading of the Goddard book for essay 1. To St Paul's bookshop and served by one of my class who gave me a Heythrop discount! Fr Alexander at Mass and the Byron consort of Harrow School sang MacMillan, Palestr...

David Attenborough on fossils was interesting. Only one more Saturday to go - I was a couple of minutes late today. Threw out more old videos - sad to think that technology has overtaken them. To Mass at cathedral and arrived at offertory so all those dreary visits to Tooting Bec could have been avoided but I do like to be there for the whole service! Good choir from Shepton Mallet and Bach Fantasia in C minor. Excellent servers supper in the hall - starter, sausages and cake. Enjoyed chatting to Peter Stevens and Fr Michael Durand.

To visit Ciarán who is smiling and holding head up while on his tummy. He even managed to pull himself forward on the mat. He has a definite personality and uses his eyebrows to great effect. He seems to know when the camera is about too! I tried platform 2 first for the train to Shepherds Bush from Clapham Junction then to platform 17 where I just missed the train by seconds so back to platform 2 all in my black shoes which are not the most comfortable and suit. To servers guild dinner at Brook Green where the parish centre has been refurbished. A good meal of soup, chicken, choc cake and lots of white wine. Simon and Mgr Vincent Brady the secretary to the Nuncio spoke really well. President Nick Tilbury in wheelchair following fall in the snow. We sat with Brian and Lerone. Got tube and train to East Croydon and taxi home and trains still affected by signal failures! £10 for taxi, £10 for wine, £20 each for meal. I expect it was more enjoyable than the dinner at Maidstone for Catenia...
