I went to the pool but had to get out as my left forearm was hurting again. The sauna helped a bit. I tripped on Sunday on steps and I may have sprained it as I went forward. Delivered Catenian and Signposts stuff to St Andrew Thornton Heath. Cathedral quiet day with Michael Dorey on Pentecost. To John East's flat to see Patricia. Cardinal Bea lecture at Sisters of Sion was excellent. Fr Peter Cullen and Debbie Weismann chaired by Canon John O'Toole.

Birthday of St John the Baptist big day in Florence. Prayers for all being ordained today.  Daniel Trott , Carlos, Micky, Gareth.  Excellent session on radicalisation with Rashid Ali and  Damian Howard  at Hurtado. William Rhind was there. At Whitechapel gallery a film about a marble column rather intriguing. Rest of the work unimpressve. Had caperberries in tomato salad.  Jeremiah Stephenson played well at Bloomsbury Baptist but modern piece very weird and one registration fluff in Alain.  Fr  John at vespers and Mass for Birth of John Baptist who is his name saint. I am John the Evangelist.  At big iftar Hyderi mosque Streatham. Adrian and Diana Mills spoke well, also a Jewish journalist and deputy from MCB. Less impressed by Palestinian woman on Prevent. Met Rupert Sutton again and William was there, also David Sutton. 

To Acton with William who has interview for Southwark Diocese today and watched Monkey planet. William came to both meetings on Wednesday and seemed confident about the interview for Southwark Justice and Peace.

Watched "Milk" on TV - I have seen it before but it is good. To SOAS on 468 for 4th multifaith Faiths in tune, Set up table and Lola arrived with the Conversations cards which are very attractive. I had made lots of copies of the cathedral interfaith group leaflets. I heard a good Christian group from Ealing. It was pleasant chatting to William. Shereen came in the afternoon. Stefan and Arfan sang and played well and were there all day. There were people about but not as much as hoped. Had Moorish lunch and packed up at 5.30 to get to Chrism Mass rehearsal whcih went well. We are acolytes and consecration torches. Swam 24. To mosaic and finished the elephant and started drawing the border design. Others were grouting. Hendrika took tai chi. Home for lunch and Liz had been for a haircut. To St James Piccadilly where I met William Rhind and Diana Mills. Downstairs are several large rooms and we enjoyed mixing and kneading the dough. A couple from Cambridge and met everybody.  Ended with a nice supper and a ciabatta loaf to take home. 

Buss trike so we drove to Streatham synagogue where there was a good turnout for the interfaith harmony week breakfast. Nice to chat to Revd Nagase who knows Prem and showed him the Chennai videos. William was there and I met Maksud who I had contacted about Conversations! To art and worked on Ivor's portrait - quite pleased with it so far. Wrote an account of Celia Blackden as she is moving to Focolare in Rome! Sent parcel of music from Peter Myers to Iain Melville in Yelverton. With 2 Brendans to Dulwich circle at their new venue the Griffin sports club. Acoustics not great but lots to eat! 

Swam 20. Fr Paul has sent a clear reply about the situation which is outrageous! No wonder priests leave the C of E! To the cathedral for 11 a.m. Mass for the religious with the Cardinal. I was mitre/crozier and Liz was acolyte. She was cross that Jess was thurifer and assistant MC. Nice lunch and spoke to several nuns I know and some new ones incl Marie Therese a Servite who was in Rome for the ecumenical gathering. Liz went to UCL. I went to the Rubens and his legacy at the Royal Academy - some fine paintings but also gaps where pirctures which were imitated were not shown. 14 bus to Victoria and Albert and sketched 2 lions of Pisano in the cast courts. Tea at M & S and served acolyte at 5.30 mass - loads of servers but only 2 torches! Fr Alexander and the choir sang Byrd superbly. Dashed to station and just missed train so home and quick change and got to Catenians at 8. A good meeting - 20 there. William spoke about Gandhi foundation afterwards. Juan will come on council. Sad ...

Woke at 7 but dropped off so no swim. I went to South London interfaith lunch where we heard about the campaign against the arms trade, then to Chanukkah with William Rhind at Liberal Jewish synagogue (Michael Redman was there) and to Kidbrooke for commissioning of Bonny's husband as Church Army evangelist. Took ages to find Onespace in the dark!

Despite a fire at Victoria we got there in time to be acolytes. The singing was superb - Pizzetti and Holst. Not sure that Cranham was a great choice for the remembrance hymn Think O Lord in mercy, The new anthem worked well, Shirley Williams fluffed her reading. Excellent sermon from Canon Christopher and the Canon from the Abbey was very friendly. Saw Dorio, Paul Joslin, Freddie Mayes and Alistair afterwards. Had lunch downstairs, Patrick Rogers gave us a tour of the marbles - not very interesting. There are 129 varieties! To interfaith group and 13 came including 2 from Brixton. William Rhind spoke well on Gandhi and interfaith. To LSE and the prof from Columbia, USA namedropped and did not quote Pope Francis on pvoerty and never mentioned previous Popes or Catholic social teaching. Liz went to sit and I watched The Apprentice.
