Vermeer exhibition excellent. Art fund allowed free watching of the film from the Riksmuseum. To Mass and then to bingo at St John's. This proved to be enjoyable and the food was good and we both won chocs! AnnMarie was there. Sat with Patsy.

Rain. Sunday played Bach Descent from the cross and Erbarm dich. Peregrine was back and the Humfrey Hymn to God the father went well. He did not stay to practise. Paul came and I was so tired. Not only did the service start late again it was far too long - finished at 11.30! Long spiel from Noel about joining the church council. The hymns were not suitable for Passion Sunday and I spoke to Peregrine and Julie. There must be a discussion about this. Did not go to Henry's bowling party. Pulled out ivy and cut back roses next door as the footings of the wall have been done. Iftar at Hyderi mosque Croydon on Islamophobia. Excellent speakers including Julie Siddiqui. I spoke about Faiths Together in Croydon and read the prayer for peace attributed to St Francis. Watched BBC4 concert BBC Welsh Saint-Saens, Grieg piano concerto and Scherezade. Conducted by Gurulier. Hilarious Morecambe and Wise tribute.

This is the one time we should hear the whole story! The reader headed for the ambo after the homily and started the prayers so no Creed! Gounod Romeo and Juliette from the Met on radio.

Played Brahms Herzliebster Jesu and Bach Passion chorale and Tears of grief which was appreciated. Trumpet very good. Ben came and Sarah at rehearsal for Holy Week. How silly to admit first communicants on Palm Sunday when we have the Passion, procession and extra gospel. Result was a service lasting 90 minutes and we had a rehearsal for the Triduum after service. The wretched percussion instruments were added to the last hymn. What is this getting children to bless palms and people?? Blackfriars was good. Scary evening. I sat down while singing in Stainer's Crucifixion. My legs just gave way under me. The rest of the evening was an ordeal worrying that it would happen again. Straight home in bed. It’s not my favourite work because of the text!
