Auckland museum

Saturday morning link bus to Auckland museum - fascinating collection of Maori buildings including musical instruments, children's items, furniture, then upstairs to war memorial sections - very well done including Spitfire and Zero planes. Needed a lot more time. Back to hotel for 12.30 to meet ATP rep Laurie. Coach tour round the city and a lovely stop at the Winter garden in the domain. On sailing yacht Spirit of Auckland round the harbour. A glorious day. Got a taxi to St Benedict's for Mass - using the new Missal text with a red booklet. Hymns led by cantor and piano - set rather high and he was placed too near the altar. Wine in glasses and special ministers doing a lot. Additions like bowing after consecration. Particularly do not like "I believe". Taxi back and an Italian meal which lasted 2 hours - food good, service slow!

Vigil

 Saturday a memorable day. SM walk in Muswell Hill. To Parliament and met up with Kate, Lyn and Graham. So many people and buggies! The tourist trade has clearly revived. Glad I took my chair and the 2 hours went quickly. Ecological Stations and Rosary and Laudate Deum meditation. William Rhind and animators came. Sean and Ciaran came and Louise and Tom went to a party in Coulsdon. We went to Mass and I spoke to the lady from CAFOD. Petition nearly at 1000! Sunday Lent 1 Played Demessieux on Attende domine which Linda and I sang. Prelude and fughetta Franck. A mosy enjoyable family lunch at Westow House. Lamb and lemon posset. Had a sleep! Evensong Howells Like as the hart. Wierd hymn Christian dost thou see them to St Andrew of Crete by Dykes. Throwdown was good. Ben Fogle in the Congo. Antiques roadshow.
