 Sept 2 swam 20 pool was quiet. A delightful visit to Tina and she liked the flowers and card. Her flat is lovely. Ended up giving us pasta and salami and coffee. To Halfords to get caps for tyres. Fell asleep watching Call my bluff and catching up on Sewing Bee! Painting the Psalms picture listening to Rachmaninov Piano concerto 3 form last night's Prom and Berlin Phil playing Enigma variations brought tears to my eyes then Tchaik 4. I spent some time sending emails about the interfaith event only to find that they were not sent. I thought tonight would be mu first Westminster Justice and peace commission meeting at Farm St but Anita knew nothing about it. I can't go to the study day so no idea when my first meeting will be! 

Henry arrived at 8. He was tired from going to Oxford so British museum idea was abandoned nor would he go to my art group so I spent 3 hours clearing up the back garden and Henry cut back the rose. He watched Netflix and recorders and Vikings. Took 6 bags of garden stuff up to Dennis's when he came back. Animal park and keeping up appearances. Did some more painting but I was tired and I seem to have pulled a muscle inside my left thigh at Maree's class. Berlin phil at the Prom playing Scriabin Symphony no 3. 

Friday 4th Sept to Unacc and picked up Liz for lunch. The pulled muscle in my left inner thigh played up again so I sat for the exercises. Mick came and had a lovely chat. Box office at St Martin in the Firlds sent me a link to the Amnesty lecture by Agnes Callamard and it’s worth a listen. There’s been a problem with sending out lecture tickets. Painting of the cover for the Psalms pretty much finished - just touching up to do. A great Prom from Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Andrew Manze with Simone Lamsma playing the Britten Violin concerto. I loved RVW 9 following with the full score which cost 21s back in 1958 and the excellent BBC guide to the RVW symphonies by Hugh Ottaway which I bought for 45p in 1972! James Day “It is the work, not of a tired old man, but of a very experienced one”. So BBC2 can cover the Reform conference. Will they give the Green Party conference the same amount of time? And it was on the news. Argentina wants the Falklands - Trump is behind this. Watching the news is awful.

Sat 5th SM Maddie in Wimbledon on her vocation. Retubed right hearing aid then new mould arrived! Much better sound. Stunning playing by Mihaly Gyorfi at St John’s. Schubert, the extraordinary Bartok piano sonata, Mozart K.333 beautiful and his own arrangement of Tchaikovsky Symphony No 4 Scherzo. He is 26 and strangely was not happy with his performance! Practised for funeral (now it's quiet music for 20 minutes beforehand) and Bach at the end. Bruce rang. Painting 4 finished. Mass no mention of season of creation so I have sent the materials to all the parishes again! Second hymn no number so we did not sing! Prom Marta Argerich and Brahms 4. Finished the Rhys Bowen book.

Sunday 6th to Prom John WIlson and strings of Sinfonia of London. Sitting next to Jenny Annett from the chorus! Lovely programme Berkeley, Bridge, Imgen Holst and Britten. Stunning French soprano. Drove to Tooting bad traffic coming the other way. Arrived late for President's Sunday lunch delicious pork and Eton mess. To evensong which was special. It was great to be back! Taverner, Wood in D, Bullock. Prom Britten wierd Gwilym Simcock triple concerto - could not work it out at all. Watched Martha Argerich 84 and Brahms 4 Munich phil. Only connect.

Monday 7th. Liz to weaving and nails done. Swim - middle lane full of fast swimmers so did 16 in the slow lane despite 2 slow ladies and Dennis the blind swimmer. Washing all done and paintings finished so I submitted all 4 to Divine Designs. Julian came. Nice chat. To meet Liz and when I got to London Bridge I realised I had left the candle burnign but luckily is was in a deep tin and was still alight when we got home. Threads through the cross at Southwark cathedral. Jacqui Parkinson at her best. The prints in the cafe of London are good but not brilliant. Lovely evensong at Southwark cathedral especially Bruckner Ave Maria. Stanford in C. Baroness Warsi Here I stand at St Martin in the Fields articulate and engaging. She was spot on about ignorance of our British history. The Bayeux Tapestry we got conquered and we made a tapestry to give to the victors? Muslims do matter! End of Call my bluff. I am disgusted that Tommy Robinson is appearing on the news. These people should be arrested for setting up these demonstrations. Baroness Warsi asked some very pointed questions. Who is funding these right wing demos? WHo is funding the settlers in Palestine?
