Organ

The garden is being transformed! The old shed has gone. An enjoyable composite recital at St John's. I played Dom Andrew Moore. William McVicker gave an excellent talk on T. C. Lewis and Norman Harper demonstrated Bach Victorian style. Watched Rscm evensong. Ginette Nye was singing and Rosemary Field conducted - psalm too slow and long gap before each response.  The Scott brothers at Rochdale on you tube. Strictly was good. Come dine with me. Clocks went back an hour. LMP Strauss oboe concerto.

A quiet Sunday at home. Liz went to sing. Bravo David Grealy and Conor Prendiville for the Vierne recital. I do love Berceuse it is one of two Vierne pieces I can play. The other being Epitaphe. The Angelus ought to be better known. World opera day so a feast on you tube. Garsington Fidelio works really well with reduced orchestra and one to a part chorus! Toby Spence is terrific! Loved watching home videos especially Dad's birthday in 1996 because it has sound and you get Mum's comments! Watched Elona Holmes on Netflix - very clever!

Monday Blackfriars no sign of gardeners. Fine day. Watched a lot of Music from the Masses. I am on a lot. Finally spotted Liz during the Britten Sanctus in programme 3! Jeremiah Stephenson played well at Cornhill. Followed the Vierne with the score. Evensong from there at 6 - very dull preacher. Gray in F minor and Harris anthem. Stanford played by Simon Hogan at the end. Catenians hosted Cardinal Michael Fitzgerald who spoke on the document agreed between the Pope and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar. 170 there! He responded very encouragingly to my question and said he had seen my name many times through Westminster Interfaith. Friendship, food and lots of patience is needed. 2 circles had invited an imam to speak! All very encouraging. Only connect and University challenge.

Tuesday the bottom of the garden wall is down and Darren agreed to the lilac tree being removed. The roots are under our garden! Blackfriars. The 1980 telecast of Don Carlos from the Met stars a cast of legendary artists, including tenor Vasile Moldoveanu in the title role, soprano Renata Scotto as Elisabeth, mezzo-soprano Tatiana Troyanos as Eboli, baritone Sherrill Milnes as Rodrigo, bass Paul Plishka as Philip II, and bass Jerome Hines as the Grand Inquisitor. I watched the first 2 acts. World opera day - some excellent South African singers included. Quiet time. The launch of Waiting on grace by Michael Barnes attracted 100 online. Pity is cost £50 for the Kindle. Bake off was good.
