Another heat wave

 Thursday woke at 5. Art and aerobics. Hot again. Decided not to go to Mount Street for planning meeting for October service. LSi webinar threw me out 3 times so gave up. Laptop worked later. LSiUK zoom was excelllent with Emily Cahill and Salvatore. Dinner in the garden when it was cooler. Cleaned out fridge. Wimbledon 

Friday hot again. Took car to LV autos Bell Green. Both saw Dr Clarke and health plan set up. Unacc lunch - missed aerobics. Future looks bleak there. Mick came. Collected car £580 - sparkplugs, tires, washer, wipers. Laughed at Rev.

Saturday a quiet day as hot. Minutes done from Thursday's transcripts. Wimbledon. Treasures of NT. Mass ar Anerley. To Beck Methodist for South London singers summer serenade. Met the conductor. It was a pleasant programme but the heat led to some flat singing and some of the choir do not express with their faces what they are singing and some do not look up at the conductor. Portillo in Portugal. 

Sunday Played at Christ Church St Stephen Battersea which is High church. Fr Owen ruby anniversary of ordination. The congregation sang Thorne really well. Organ 2 manual Mander unenclosed “a kist of whistles”.i think the murals are Duncan Grant? Pevsner says they are Hans Feibusch. Church is 1959. Mad dogs and Englishmen? Got back from church and pruned the roses and ended up up sweeping the garden. Just had a cold shower and catching up on Songs of Praise about the Salvation Army. Wimbledon Men's singles final was great and Sinner won. Summer concert from Vienna with Petroc presenting.

Monday hot again. Swim but met Iana nd his son so only did 10 lengths. No aerobics as it was Colette's meeting. She is retiring to Brentwood and somebody else will do the notes so that's a relief. Phoenix centre excellent talk by Colin Jones on hidden gardens of London incl Ismaili centre and lots we have visited. Woman came about Joie car seat but did not take it in the end. Practice at St Philip Norbury and Sam Coates was very helpful. Console is in a pit which is awkward. 3 manuals but no room for choir pipes! Mastermind and University challenge are back!

Tuesday July 15. Swim. Liz nails done and her hair. Long chat to James Buchanan. To carers meeting which was very helpful. Paul who was in India and lives in Cyprus. CAN Bill meeting was also helpful. Anita Tozzi rang about the pilgrimage to Nottingham from Southwark. To Fishers to get medicines as they had tried twice to deliver. Sewing Bee is back.

Wed swim. To cathedral for interfaith group. Look at Nostra aetate and our name not to change. Programme for 6 months set up. Croissants! Liz had found a car online - hybrid Jazz 3 years old at Orpington. To Catenians salmon salad and sorbets. The vote on the motion to admit women comes in Sept and there is lots of opposition!

Thursday Liz to research project Du Cane Rd. Art and good work on the tiled roof and timbers. Aerobics it was clammy. Swam 10. Picked up LIz at Bromley South and to Honda Orpington where Imran was most helpful. Test drove Honda Jazz hybrid automatic 3 years old and liked it. Liz also had a go and did well. To SJ for Charles Francis recital which was terrific. He siad he was so pleased to meet me as he had followed me on Facebook for years! He signed the Willan copy. Mendelssohn, Schumann, Parry, Elgar and Willan Introduction, passacaglia and fugue.
