Sunday Lovely Eucharist at St John's as part of festival of contemporary church music. Ian Shaw's simple Mass, Nicholas Nicholas Ansdell-Evans Soul of Jesus and Lionel Bourne’s lovely anthem Thou art God. Patrick Gowers Toccata. Had a nice chat to Jennifer. Liz to Messy church. Watched Le Roi d'Ys by Lalo. Certainly dramatic and effective. Washed kitchen floor and hoovered. Life on earth.

Monday Liz for Xray of hand. Chat to Ann. Swim. Jenny Dunlop spoke at Phoenix centre on war memorials. She spoke too fast as she wanted to get away which was disappointing. First Cambridge LSiinstitute zoom on Islamic and Christian ecology very interesting. Only connect, University challenge, Masterchef.

Tuesday swim and practise. Theme is prayer and Priere a Notre Dame will not offend I am told. Meditation and chat to William about his trip to Russia. Packed and did ironing. Second session on Islamic and Christian ecology was very interesting. Only connect, Sorry, Keeping up appearances.

Wednesday set off for Solihull. Problem with keys. Bus held up at Crown Point roadworks so got later 2 and missed our booked train so went to ticket office and got a pass. Arrived Ok and got bus to Hay Lane lodge. Sandwiches and tea. We have a four poster bed! Bus into town to Touchwood and had tea and nougat roll at John Lewis. This is a wealthy area. Eventually realised we got the5 bus from the place it dropped us and got back. Cambridge session on phone. Very nice dinner pork and sticky toffee pudding. CCA zoom. Watched Race across the world in Mongolia.

Thursday Ascension Day. Great breakfast. To Bruton park which is lovely and walked round the lake. To John Lewis for coffee and cake. Lovely mass at St Augustine's and the priest and server very friendly. They sang well. The old church is Pugin's first. To Manor House in the High St where we had a cream tea. Had look in the large library. Zoom animators and Peter Blackman joined us. Very nice dinner and too late to get to St Alphege's.

A wonderful day at the Columbans. Good breakfast again. Fr Tim picked us up. He is 62 and retired. Gathering at 11 Liz B did not come. 12 altogether. Tim told us about the Columbans very interesting. Saw videos from James. Tour of the lovely grounds and outdoor classroom being built and solar panels had arrived. Lunch. Mass in the stables around the manger. Sang How great Thou art and Laudato Si'. I sang psalm and Alleluias. It was just perfect especially sharing the cup and hosts. Fr Tim took us to bus stop where we travelled with Janet to Coventry changed onto bus to Ibis hotel which is very nice. Had fish and chips and beer. Listened to last Cambridge lecture. Slept well. Big bed.

Saturday breakfast. Not a happy bunny but still hopeful. The hotel Ibis internet unreliable so copied my planner to my phone. Started at 385 Got to 0 at 9.30 then could not remember my password. The link to reset it sent me to the back of the queue 10,090 so now waiting 6130 35 minutes to go. I will try with Liz's email this time. 11 am. SM Andrew Carter's studio. When I finally got through accepted chnage of password but then first bank card did not get message form Barclays so started again second card no good. Finally got it on third card. By this time we were out of the room. Did not get Berlioz requiem and some seats inrow 4 rather than row 1. On bus Liz got through to access line - 2 parking on waiting list. Stressful. Holy Trinity church then to cathedral. Discovered the art and christanity tour was last Saturday - my fault. I will now have to check dates very carefully - this has happended twice. Mahler 8 being rehearsed - chorus not loud enough. They gave us a gu8idebook an dwe bought a mug. Could not look around Herbert gallery National Art fund card free.
