Salford

 Thursday set off to Euston bus was slow and got to assistance in time. Magda was there. Train was 35 minutes late. No assistance at Manchester so walked ot taxi and to Luther King House. Buses and got to Chetham's library in time for 3 p.m. tour which was fascinating. Uber to Cloud 23. Great view, champagne and 3 kinds of tea. To bed early.

Friday uber to Salford cathedral and he went past it! Found console appeared to be locked but in the end got the top open and I played for 5 minutes before the excellent tour. Stephen and Mary from Bath gave us a lift to Laudato Si' centre. Rained but enjoyed Emily's tour and Via Creationis led by Sr Joan. Lift to town and nice meal at Pizza Express 2 hours. 

Saturday Sr Joan picked 4 of us up Bella went on buses. Sr Joan's talk on Franciscan prayer was excellent. Mgr Paul led Mass in the woods - inpsiring. I sang the psalm with 5 minutes notice of the text! Liz served. We got an uber for 5 to the station. Train delayed 35 minutes no driver!. Got home at 10 p.m. tired out! A most successful gathering.

Sunday Liz to SJ and played at Riddlesdown. Such a lovely surprise at St James Riddlesdown a present and 80th birthday card signed by everyone! I played Chanson de matin and Pomp and Circumstance no 1. To lunch at Sole Luna. Rest then evensong Blessed by the God and Father Stanford in B flat and Oculi omnium. Watched Celebrity Pottery throwdown.

Monday swim. Liz to music session. Belt refund at Marks, blisterpacks to Boots, bought canvases at The Works. Carers meeting not so many there. Laura not there so Gina took it. Found out music for Friday's funeral at last. Clocktower cafe closed so missed exhibition about Ukraine. Quiz night, Liz went to UCM.

Tuesday swim. Bruce and Emma came. Great to see them. Supervision meeting another card and Happy birthday. Cupcakes went down well. Wrote 2 reports for ICN and practised for funeral. To NT Misanthrope at cinema great acting!

40 lengths on Thursday and Friday. Busy at work with survey. Fell asleep during "The history of Christianity" part 1 on BBC4. Friday to Catenian clergy supper - 70 at Addington Palace golf club but not many Norwood brothers or clergy. Picked up Fr Sixtus at St Chad's and Fr Tim Dean from the cathedral at East Croydon which was very busy because of rain! Fr Tim spoke well and enjoyed the evening which was too long thanks to a raffle. Good meal - roast beef. Home at 11.45! Woke early and lie-in - Liz fed up as I was out again this time for St Andrew's day on outreach at the very attractive Holy Trinity centre, Wallington where Freda Curtis's funeral was held. An interesting discussion in small groups and useful. Home to find a match on so parked outside Hyacinth's and tried to find reason for water overflowing onto back roof - baffling!

Werther

Monday swam 20. To mosaic and finished Sean only needs grouting now. Tai chi we stood for 30 minutes while Tony wittered on and on! Got petrol and went back to Norwood Junction to ask about ym mobile phone which disappeared yesterday. Got home and emptied boot of car and there it was! What a relief! Phoned up about Catenian cups and they are ready. Practised Panufnik.  Really enjoyed Werther live from ROH at Clapham Picturehouse. JoyceDiDonato and Vittorio Grigolo very moving and Pappano superb. Horrendous journey home from Balham to Clapham Junction then to East Croydon no trains so walked to Whitgift centre and 75 bus to Selhurst to get the car!
