Salford

 Thursday set off to Euston bus was slow and got to assistance in time. Magda was there. Train was 35 minutes late. No assistance at Manchester so walked ot taxi and to Luther King House. Buses and got to Chetham's library in time for 3 p.m. tour which was fascinating. Uber to Cloud 23. Great view, champagne and 3 kinds of tea. To bed early.

Friday uber to Salford cathedral and he went past it! Found console appeared to be locked but in the end got the top open and I played for 5 minutes before the excellent tour. Stephen and Mary from Bath gave us a lift to Laudato Si' centre. Rained but enjoyed Emily's tour and Via Creationis led by Sr Joan. Lift to town and nice meal at Pizza Express 2 hours. 

Saturday Sr Joan picked 4 of us up Bella went on buses. Sr Joan's talk on Franciscan prayer was excellent. Mgr Paul led Mass in the woods - inpsiring. I sang the psalm with 5 minutes notice of the text! Liz served. We got an uber for 5 to the station. Train delayed 35 minutes no driver!. Got home at 10 p.m. tired out! A most successful gathering.

Sunday Liz to SJ and played at Riddlesdown. Such a lovely surprise at St James Riddlesdown a present and 80th birthday card signed by everyone! I played Chanson de matin and Pomp and Circumstance no 1. To lunch at Sole Luna. Rest then evensong Blessed by the God and Father Stanford in B flat and Oculi omnium. Watched Celebrity Pottery throwdown.

Monday swim. Liz to music session. Belt refund at Marks, blisterpacks to Boots, bought canvases at The Works. Carers meeting not so many there. Laura not there so Gina took it. Found out music for Friday's funeral at last. Clocktower cafe closed so missed exhibition about Ukraine. Quiz night, Liz went to UCM.

Tuesday swim. Bruce and Emma came. Great to see them. Supervision meeting another card and Happy birthday. Cupcakes went down well. Wrote 2 reports for ICN and practised for funeral. To NT Misanthrope at cinema great acting. Sean's 14th birthday!

Wednesday 23rd a most enjoyable visit to the Musical Museum Brentford where Simon Gregory our retiring President volunteers. I played Teddy Bears picnic on the Regal Wurlitzer. I used the 1945 copy given to my Grandma by Aunt Elsie. Pub lunch at the Express was very good. Simon took us round the historic instruments and Liz tried pumping a pianola - hard work! Coffee and tea provided. Bought a teddy and a mug. Decided not to go to Westminster cathedral recital. Ironing. Bed changed.

Thursday took cakes to art and started drawing new picture about public transport. Got new lenses and new frames as I sat on them on the cruise. Ann and Paul came for tea as they had arrived early from Wales. Lovely to see them. Animators meeting only 4.

Friday played for Stephen Beck's funeral at Selsdon a clavinova. Liz served everyone friendly. BTG choir sang well but the packed congregation didn't. Maybe the organ which was not working would have got them singing. I used John Lee pieces for manuals only. Ave maria went well and I played I now that my redeemer liveth at the end. Nimrod just before the service but I did not hear the hymn bein announced so the teacher told me! Ann and Paul went to Crystal Palace park with Bruce and Emma so met them at the refurbished museum and tea and cake at Paxton centre. The dinner for 14 at Sole Luna was a huge success and Andrew took photos. Rosemary came and everybody enjoyed it. Ann made a lovely speech and gave me a Dinky Rolls Royce. Came home on the nus lots of presecco and cakes which Ann Marie has made. Delicious.

Saturday Ann and Paul came so no Hurtado or SM! Set off around 1 but could not find St Peter Swingfield at all so went to Dymchurch and had tea and cake there. On to New Romney and the Ship Inn nice. Room a bit small but OK. The train trip on Romney Hythe and Dymchurch was great and a delicious 3 course meal at Dungeness. Lovely sunset. Back by 10.30. Tired.

Sunday good breakfast and drove to Catholic church Hythe where Gehad is deacon and Bp Paul celebrated. Tea and cake afterwards and met 5 ex- Catenians. To St Leonard's which has a fine organ. £5 to see ossuary so skipped that. When we got to the country park it was £3.80 to park so went to find St Peter's Swinfied and it was well worth it. Fine tower and war memorial lychgate and benches. Home by 5.15. Pottery throw down. Ann rang. They had been to see Oliver.

Monday Ann and I went swimming and I took her to Beck Meth where I played Dad's music and Harvest pieces and Peeters. Met David and Mary and had lunch. The robot arrived for a month as part of dementia research. Liz went to get cassock altered. Quiz night and Henry Moore tributes.

Tuesday swim and chair exercise. Liz came to lunch at Unacc. Chocolate cake and card. Meditation not many there. They enjoyed the cakes. Turns out the Animal Park episodes are all old. SM lectures Fintan O'Toole on Gulliver and Akiko Hart from Liberty.
