Portsmouth

 We had a lovely stay at Langstone Hotel Hayling Island. Excellent food, large pool and creek view from our room. On Friday we were at evensong in Portsmouth cathedral music by John Amner. Saturday to Gosport. Submarine museum fascinating and HMS Alliance then Explosion and the Night raiders. Sunday we celebrated the 70th anniversary of the accession of the Queen at Portsmouth cathedral. We wait for thy loving kindness Mckie and I was glad with the Vivats. Lovely to see David Price and Portsmouth Cathedral Choir on stunning form.Sunday afternoon Spinnaker Tower and D-day museum. The landing craft restoration is amazing. At last I got to play Guildford cathedral organ! Katherine Dienes-Williams was so kind to give us her time and help. Harris, FJ, Philip Moore, Bliss and Crown Imperial! Lovely to see the building without chairs! Pottery throw down and Call the midwife.

Jeremy Summerly's RSCM lecture on the English cadence which we should now call the Josquin cadence was excellent. SM, S and B. Useful zoom with Magda, Front porch window fixed and Sean continues to make great progress in the kitchen. Caught up on emails. Quiet time joined by Joe Feeny. Belmont Fr Alexander George coffin brought into church before vespers. Synod meeting - 9 there this time and lots of useful stuff.
