Easter week

Tuesday SM, S and B. Did not sleep well. Dan came and I think we will get on very well. QUiet time I was late as I fell asleep. Young dancer. To collect 2 clocks (electric) from Men and Women in sheds and got light bulbs. Belmont vespers.Bishop Lusa Ngenya-Ngoy Bishop of Willesden on the resurrection and prayer. Boring Masterchef and Feel the fear.

Wednesday SM, S and B. Good chat to Clare. To Kent House and to the Hinsley room. St Paul's to buy 2 encyclicals. When I got to the room they were washing the floor! 4 came and we had a good discussion. Changed the light bulbs in Penge. Vic and Albert.

Thursday woke at 9.10 slept right through. To art and started platinum jubilee painting. Liz at gym. Churches trust on dissolution of the monasteries and the aftermath. Bidding room. Tried to edit chorus video. Belmont vespers. Fr Stuart said the music there is poor - organ only twice a week. Jonathan Scott played a popular programme at St John's and a good audience. Nice to see Warren, Andy Scott, Graham and Sebastian.

Friday swam 20. B, SM and S. Liz to workshop on hanging baskets. Last Lent group went well - just the 3 of us. Chris came to help with the powerpoinf about the Chorus and managed to copy several shortened films! Not best pleased that somebosy else is likely to speak in June deferring my talk to next year! Good meeting about Southwark synod report which is not very satisfactory!  Hustings for Croydon mayor hard to hear and too many candidates.

Saturday SM walk round Soho with Brandon. S. Hurtado on Emmaus. I thought about breaking of bread. So often we cannot see this happening. The wafer does not look like or taste of bread! Livestreaming has not helped  only Daniel got the camera close enough to the altar! Music list for May done. It is a shame the Songs of Praise has been postponed to January. The excuses given by the clergy are pathetic. Why agree a date when you know you will be retired or on holiday! Art that made us was good, Pilgrimage for St Columba came to a good end. Mass at Anerley. Sunith now has a beard and is moving and speaking slower than ever. No prayers and no Peace! He walks round the church giving communion. Everybody except the 2 servers was masked. Listened to Philharmonia chorus King's college Good Friday concert - not overly impressed!

Great to have Liz and Clarissa singing at Caterham. We sang John Barnard's arrangement of O sons and daughters and I played variations on the tune by Christopher Tambling and Jeanne Demessieux. Gordon Slater's Easter Alleluia at the end. We collected seeds from Coulsdon and had lunch at the Tudor Rose. Chocolate bomb! I slept for 2 hours! Young dancer, Swan Lake 2018 from Royal Ballet was lovely, film about the life of Carlos Acosta.
