Holy Week

 Nazareth walk in St James Park, S and B. Nice chat to Ann. To Bromley PC for organists AGM. Frank and William McVicar duets and Sam playing slap and jingle bells! Both have joined the committee. I raised Albert Hall visit and educational projects. To St Matthew's West Norwood for Mass (first time for a long time). Teresa, Jenny and Sue were there. No singing and shortened Passion. Not many people. Fr Richard from St Mary Clapham covering for Fr Anthony. Repair shop, incredible hotels. I think this Holy Week may be rather dreary. 

Palm Sunday. Sent memories of Martin How to Addington Palace website. He has terminal bowel cancer. So sad. Palm Sunday We had 4 in the choir and they sang well. I was having hearing problems with the loop! Played Bach Passion chorale prelude and Tears of grief. The passion play from St Martin's in the Fields was very moving. B. Palm Sunday was always important to Dad as it was the Sunday he started playing. MRI of whole spine at Mayday. It went quite quickly - I tried some meditation techniques. Had to go back to retrieve The Tablet! Bakeoff. Repair shop. Had an early night.

Monday swim. B, SM and S. Daniel rang about spiritual direction coming next Tuesday. Spidir committee hybrid worked well. To Pasoce pharmacy for vaccine no. 4. Cardinal's music concert of Passiontide music on radio 3 and Facebook from Wigmore hall. Belmont vespers, S exc talk and compline, SMITF new Nazareth companions. To St John's healing Mass - first time I have been anointed! Bishop Peter Selby spoke well.

Tuesday S,B and SM. LMP chat James Mayhew on painting to illustrate music for children, educational projects. Essex folk. Quiet time. Looked at discs of xrays and MRI. Lifting the Lid published in Oremus! Finished Amanda Prowse An ordinary life. It is very moving! Fascinating Gresham lecture on disinformation. Belmont Vespers, S compline and address by Canon Leanne. St John's Penitential Mass with Fr Tom and Bishop Peter. Gresham on freezing eggs and delaying fertility.

Wednesday SM, B and S. Chrism Mass from St George's cathedral. John Wilson gave an excellent homily. Brass. Maclean singing into the mike when there is a large choir - some of the music was completely new! Meditation. Battling to save items to Powerpoint for chorus talk. I was so interested in Philharmonia yearbooks I nearly missed Sam Wells' excellent sermon at SM!

Maundy Thursday Shirley went to Windsor to recieve the Royal Maundy. SM and S. B Tenebrae which was lovely. Leeds Chrism Mass young singers are excellent. Finished the Ukranian painting at last. I stayed home. Liz baking hot cross buns. Cheltenham Green Christian prayers. Bishop Richard's video. Played Wordsworth Nicht so traurig and Coleman on Pange lingua. 3 in choir. Elgar Ave verum, Ps 88. About 15 there. On the way there listened to SM and way back B. Roadworks at South Croydon bus garage.
