A new week

Swam 20. Breakfast in the garden. SM, S and B. We both went to chair based exercise at UNACC. Water features not working. Wimbledon has started! To Balham circle - the venue was double booked so we went to Pho Vietnamese restaurant. The 3 Croydon brothers did not stay. 15 minutes before we ordered drinks another 10 minutes to order food and starters eventually came. My Super green soup cannot have taken 45 minutes to prepare. The net day the manager explained in reply to my comment on trip advisor. 3 staff were off sick. Knee playing up a bit and back tired after clearing up the garden.

Tuesday Swam 20. SM. S and B. To St Catherine's school Teddington to train 6 servers. Delicious lunch and Mary Ryan gave us an orchid and wine. Sad that St Mary's student choir is under threat. Sleepy. To Beckenham for Vigil Peter and Paul but turns out usual 6 p.m. mass changed to 7.30 p.m. I was not alone! Fr Leon very chatty about interfaith group, Fr Andrew and Nazareth cross. Wimbledon Serena defeated.

Wednesday to 7.30 a.m. Mass at Thornton Heath - some mangling of the English language! Sister Sheila was there. Swam 20. Liz served at funeral of John Piper at Mortlake with Fr Adrian. B and S. Got to King's before 10.30 injection and first scan. To Horniman museum music and world gallery. Soup in cafe. Zoom about transport in London. Lovely gardens. Back to King's after sitting in Ruskin park. 2.45. Long scan and fell asleep. Webinar about the New Green deal with Caroline Lucas Green MP. An evening with Columba Timmins organised by Martin. Wimbledon. Annie won Great sewing bee - any of them could have won.

Thursday Liz to doctor so no swim. She got Xray done yesterday. SM, S and B. To art and made good progress. Everyone was pleased the fair had gone so well and the art was appreciated. To Braithwaite Hall for schools display about anti-racism. Met Mark - used to know him in Lambeth. Penny was there. LSI animators was good and 2 environmental leads were there. Minutes done. National Synod report has come. Wimbledon.

Friday. swam 20. SM and S. Chat to Ann. To UNACC for exercise. Liz went to UCM Mass at West Norwood. Zoom with Magda, Kate and Zoe was very helpful especially about emails and SLACK. Not sure we will get a platform launch in September. To Dulwich gallery to see Woman at a window and sketched Vanessa Bell painting. Came home as Liz got locked in again at Clare's - the neighbour rescued her. Wimbledon. B with Fr Timothy on the call of Matthew. Talk by Erin Lothes. Read the Bishops Synod report - only one mention of the environment! Very little on interfaith and ecumenism. Disappointing. Practical suggestions were few and far between. Why are we so reluctant to acknowledge what works in other communities? Nothing is said about changing structures. This is my house, Would I lie to you? a repeat.

Saturday SM, S and B. To St John's for Golden jubilee of ordination of Fr Andrew Wilson. Lots of singing I was glad, Darke in F, Bairstow Let all mortal flesh, Byrd Ave verum, Britten Hymn to the virgin. Nice eats. Good to see Sue, Caroline, Coventons, Gareth, Fifes, Bernie. Wimbledon. Back aching a bit. Mass at West Norwood and met Mary who works for CAFOD. Fr Celestine is coming in September - pretty sure he sings and tonic instead of tunic. Ordered new razor. Hilarious Man vs Bee with Rowan Atkinson.
