Monday 16th to ENT at Thornton Heath soft wax in right ear hadld to whistling, wax in left was harder so came out more easily. Chat to Ann Evie had first violin lesson. She had enjoyed my short videos. Swim. Liz got passport photo. Woolf Works from the Royal Ballet at West Norwood picturehouse. Max Richter’s music thought Act 3 very beautiful and moving. Puzzled by Act 2. Delicious lunch at Sole Luna papparelle and Liz had rabbit. Nice Italian food store next door. Liz went to UCM. Hedda Gabler with Ingrid Bergman, Ralph Richardson, Michael Redgrave and Trevor Howard 1963. Great acting. Lyadov Enchanted lake from Stuttgart. Antiques roadshow. Tuesday lovely pancakes for Shrove Tuesday. Barclays and carers meeting. Woke too late to swim.

Ash Wednesday practised Bach at Beckenham, delivered letter to Archbishop Richard from the interfaith group, packed cathedral, lively discussion of Dilexi te at interfaith group, the prayer vigil outside the Ministry of Defence and ashes, Byrd 4 part, Purcell and Farrant at St John’s and ashed again, Neil Macgregor on You tube from St Martin in the Fields starting the Lent course. No wonder I slept well!

To art group and started a new painting. Swim. We both went to Croydon Art space - Sandra from the art group has an intriguing work there. Laudato Si’ movement webinar a lot about AI. Interesting zoom about living stones of the Holy Land. Dr Harry Hagopian, an Armenian Christian, International Lawyer & MENA-Gulf consultant (UK) who is well-known to many of us in the Kensington Churches, in conversation with Dr Ruth Valerio, Director for Embrace the Middle East. Moderator: Bishop Jim Curry. 

Friday A day out with grandson Henry London Eye, river trip to North Greenwich and the cable car. He stuffed a blue teddy bear. Apprentice was good.

Clergy supper and outreach at Coulsdon

40 lengths on Thursday and Friday. Busy at work with survey. Fell asleep during "The history of Christianity" part 1 on BBC4. Friday to Catenian clergy supper - 70 at Addington Palace golf club but not many Norwood brothers or clergy. Picked up Fr Sixtus at St Chad's and Fr Tim Dean from the cathedral at East Croydon which was very busy because of rain! Fr Tim spoke well and enjoyed the evening which was too long thanks to a raffle. Good meal - roast beef. Home at 11.45! Woke early and lie-in - Liz fed up as I was out again this time for St Andrew's day on outreach at the very attractive Holy Trinity centre, Wallington where Freda Curtis's funeral was held. An interesting discussion in small groups and useful. Home to find a match on so parked outside Hyacinth's and tried to find reason for water overflowing onto back roof - baffling!

Guernsey 2

Sunday enjoyed chatting to Peter and Edna Morgan from Basingstoke and he loves Parry I was glad and organ music. He worked in Dubai. Mass at the hotel hardly any singing then coffee. Another lovely day pity the pool was closed. Drove round North coast Rousse tower, Fort Pembroke, Fort le Marchant, Fort Doyle and marina. Earlswood garden centre for tea and lemon cake. Motorcross on beach. Very warm in our room hence a cough. Pizzas from the bar long wait but good. Watched Antiques roadshow, Blue planet live, Victoria. Monday breakfast with Peter and Edna. To Ladies bay and walked round Delaunay Park. Mass at noon for the Annunciation at Our Lady Star of the Sea, Polish priest. Interesting circular wooden altar and evangelists in wood like Steyning or Oberammergau. Guernsey museum to see photos Chimera. Cream tea and bought soapstone elephant and gifts.
