Interfaith, 10 pin and birthday

Trevor and Dave
It was great having Louise home for lunch. To 10 pin bowling - buses were dreadful so I was a little late. However 11 teams took part and St John's Redhill won complete with a turkey by Alistair in their last round. Royal Russell school sent 6 teams. I took photos and gave out the certificates and trophy. A good time was had by all despite the NOISE and the darkness! Much moaning about RSCM! To St Gertrude's South Croydon for Mass. Asked Fr McCarthy if he was coming to Catenian clergy supper.
To Hyderi Ismaili centre in Streatham for meal and Ramadan prayers - everything translated for us on screens! Excellent talks on interfaith co-operation by Rev Alan Gadd, an excellent young sheikh born in Streatham and an Orthodox rabbi who is totally opposed to Zionism! Most interesting but it did go on rather late! Met Ebrahim and he expressed interest in coming to meet our cathedral group. Also a delightful man rather like Zia called Rahman who was most helpful.
Sunday Liz Louise and Bruce sang at St John's for Trevor and Dave's 40th anniversary in the choir - Widor Mass and Bruckner Christus factus est. To Kathy's for nice lunch in marquee. Sang bass at Coulsdon and at evensong - Dudley did well on tenor. We sang Tye's "Hail glorious spirits" and "Christ the fair glory" and "Angel voices" - first evensong of St Michael and all angels. Teresa's first anniversary of ordination.
Monday a busy day with only 3 staff at times. Caroline went to Evelyn's funeral.
Tuesday 30th I am 62! Only 3 years to retirement. No swim Monday as manager had not arrived to open up. I drove home as my black shoe had split so had time to change to my newer ones. My brown shoe has also split - my favourite ones too!
No swim Tuesday as not enough time to get train to Putney. Liz gave me lovely card and framed Canadian photos - very nice! Several Facebook messages and Ann on Skype.

Many happy returns for yesterday. Only a young lad yet - years ahead of you yet!
How are you feeling as I know you had some injuries? Regards, Graham
Many thanks! Good to see you Peter at Mass, hope your knee is improving Graham - my back is holding up well - touch wood!
