I spoke briefly about youth and invite for Thursday. It was mostly interesting. Invited to dinner at 8 so went home and changed. Train and Jubilee line to Willesden Green and walked to Imam Ali Foundation 65 Brondesbury Park a large house with superb Persian carpets. We sat on the floor and man next to me explained what was going on - he had a PhD from Wales in Maths. Speeches in Arabic no English at all - Professor then mullahs and a sheikh. Eventually moved onto a chair and then a very good dinner. I made my excuses and returned home. In one way a waste of time in another quite an education. Is it poilte not to speak one's guest's language at all in speeches? Men only.

Vigil

 Saturday a memorable day. SM walk in Muswell Hill. To Parliament and met up with Kate, Lyn and Graham. So many people and buggies! The tourist trade has clearly revived. Glad I took my chair and the 2 hours went quickly. Ecological Stations and Rosary and Laudate Deum meditation. William Rhind and animators came. Sean and Ciaran came and Louise and Tom went to a party in Coulsdon. We went to Mass and I spoke to the lady from CAFOD. Petition nearly at 1000! Sunday Lent 1 Played Demessieux on Attende domine which Linda and I sang. Prelude and fughetta Franck. A mosy enjoyable family lunch at Westow House. Lamb and lemon posset. Had a sleep!
