Monday

 Swam 20 ended up in fast lane as large lady knocked my foot. B, SM and S. Took cake to school. Swam 20. To Addiscombe for Fr Denis Paul's funeral which was lovely and so nice to see old friends again! Fr Denis was a really kind and caring priest. Moynihans, Fr Peter, Bishop Paul, Dixies, Sr Sheila, Canon Jim, Tony Charlton. Very nice lunch! Sent in Big Plastic count results. To Balham circle meeting (first time in person). Bedford Hotel which used to have a bad reputation! Bar then upstairs. AGM and meeting - not many there but all very friendly. Pizza. I thought some of the jokes were a bit questionable especially about Jews. Home on train so a wait. Home 10.40 p.m.

Tuesday SM, S. To coffee with Fr Antonio - such an interesting conversation! B translation of the relics of Dominic. Trouble in mind. Fantastic performances in a memorable play about racism. National Theatre at home. Animal park x 3 - turns out these are last year's programmes. Chelsea flower show.

Wednesday B, SM, S. Excellent Zoom on trauma, recovery and self-care. Meditation. Julia's talk on the Queen's Hall at Good Shepherd Carshalton. I did not realise the Henry Wood bust came from the hall and survived the blitz. Dr Darke organised Saturday morning rehearsals for Messiah at the start of the war involving many singers and the hall was packed for the concert.

Thursday woke at 5 . Swim. SM, S and B. Art. discussed Jubilee exhibitions. Julie's 60th birthday. Cheltenham prayer. Dan came. LSI animators David and Richard on The unsustainable truth. Cooked. Sung Eucharist at Caterham. Played Robert Groves on Llanfair, Thalben-Ball, Bach Heut triumphiret. We sang Praetorius The Lord ascendeth. St Martin's in the Fields on radio 4. Sam Wells on great form Schubert Mass was ruined by soloists, singing Agnus with a hard G like Agnes. This is wrong!!! Also some soprano high notes were off probably because of a struggle against brass, orchestra and organ. Sewing bee. Went to bed tired. Liz tested positive for covid. I am still negative.

Friday bit of a headache and coughing but still negative. B. Posted Liz's test. Had a rest. Laudato Si' week sneak preview of the new film. Mick. SM Sacred music for Ascension. Gresham lecture Should Caribbean countries abandon appeal to the Privy Council? I was unaware of the CCJ. Cooked but neither of us could eat all of the sweet potato. California rail journey along the coast from San Diego. Early night and slept well.

Saturday no SM, S. Hurtado centre on Holy Spirit. B memorial mass for David Saunders OP lovely tributes by Timothy Radcliffe and his nephews. He died 2 years ago. Cosi fan tutti from Glyndebourne a delight. Cooked curry with naan. Liz's medicines finally arrived. History of Scottish art with Lochlan and Art that made us both end of series. Clara Schumann piano concerto played by Beatrice Anka in Hamburg.

Sunday 2 positive tests. Tried to get an organist. Jerry refused Clarissa's offer of chords on the piano so it was said with no music at all! Bridget will play next Sunday. Watched B and some of Leeds. Chat to SMITF folk on zoom. Chat to Ann on Skype. Coughing but no temperature. Interesting programme about racism and exclusion at Abercrombie and Fitch. Just loved the Queen's personal films. Now watching the Silver Jubilee musical tribute including the wonderful Vera Lynn, Cliff, Kenny Ball, Lulu, Max Bygraves and Val Doonican! It's a thought that all these young dancers will now be in their 70s! 60th anniversary of Coventry cathedral. Lovely to chat to Bruce and see the huge new house!
