Philip Luke played an engaging programme at the Welsh Baptist Church. I found the Cartoon museum closed until July 1 so went to the National gallery to see the amazing Spanish Renaissance paintings by Bartlomeo Boneja. Take one picture is work by children inspired by the Joseph Wright picture of an experiment with a bird. Pity the original is not on display. Buses on diversion because of a demo and no indication of where to catch a 24 so got underground. Jeremy Rodell on secularism excellent talk and discussion at Westminster cathedral interfaith group. Benjy Bloor really is an outstanding player. Thursday St Alban. To art and started a new painting having chosen a subject! To Dulwich picture gallery - the pavilion is up, Pissarro in Dulwich consists of one painting! Cutting edge: British modernist printmaking is excellent and fun! I sketched a remarkable print by Cyril Power Monseigneur St Thomas - the martyrdom of Becket. A remarkable cutout from a single sheet of paper of a huge crocodile by Nahoko Kojima. To Dulwich bookshop to ask about Bobbie Darbyshireand Edward Davey - looking very positive! I went to mass at Thornton Heath today and it was nice to see year 1 from the school present. But given that the Lord's prayer was the Gospel one might have expected that they would have been saying a lot more. They behaved very well but Mass is not a spectator sport. At the very least they could say the responses, Sanctus and Lord's prayer! Obituary of John Michael East now sent to newspapers.

Vigil

 Saturday a memorable day. SM walk in Muswell Hill. To Parliament and met up with Kate, Lyn and Graham. So many people and buggies! The tourist trade has clearly revived. Glad I took my chair and the 2 hours went quickly. Ecological Stations and Rosary and Laudate Deum meditation. William Rhind and animators came. Sean and Ciaran came and Louise and Tom went to a party in Coulsdon. We went to Mass and I spoke to the lady from CAFOD. Petition nearly at 1000! Sunday Lent 1 Played Demessieux on Attende domine which Linda and I sang. Prelude and fughetta Franck. A mosy enjoyable family lunch at Westow House. Lamb and lemon posset. Had a sleep! Evensong Howells Like as the hart. Wierd hymn Christian dost thou see them to St Andrew of Crete by Dykes. Throwdown was good. Ben Fogle in the Congo. Antiques roadshow.
