Eve of Holy Week

 Nazareth community walk at the Olympic park, Blackfriars, retreat with Fr Michael Holman for Sisters of the assumption. He shared a moving article by Clare Gilbert. The radio 4 morning service had a good young preacher but was spoilt by 2 pop songs. Palm Sunday played Parry on Rockingham, Bach Passion chorale and Kauffman Valet. Tears of grief Bach at the end. We sang Drop drop slow tears and Sing my tongue to Pange lingua. Watched some of Upper Norwood, Blackfriars and St Mary's cathedral Sydney where they had the full sung service and not a mask in sight! Did minutes of 2 meetings. Death cafe for an hour. Dan Soper's St John passion to which Liz contributed. Come dine with me. Stainer Crucifixion from St John's. SSG evening prayer. La Voix humaine. End of first season of Call my agent.

Monday Blackfriars, long chat to Ann. SMITF, zoom and recital by Jonathan Rennert including last movement of Howells sonata no. 1 and Bedard. Paul Dewhurst at Bridlington Priory. Darius Battiwalla playing Rhapsody on a ground by Heathcote Statham at Leeds Town hall. Nice and sunny. David Grealy playing Demessiux and turns out I have the score. Dewhurst also played a short piece by her. Fascinating discussion of Egeria and Rodney Aist was there. He remembered me from St George's college. Only connect and University challenge. Vespers from Belmont and a lovely visual and meditation from Sisters of St Andrew. Drawers off has finished!

Tuesday Blackfriars, SMITF, up in time as district nurse came. King's Lynn minster and St Bride's Fleet Street recitals. Second jab all very quick. Lovely sunny day. Sisters of St Andrew lovely video and meditation. St Lawrence Evesham visit with Churches Trust. Yesterday it was All Saints, Langport. May 9 event coming together with Cardinal Michael and Archbishop Kevin. Brief visit to Essex interfaith group. Chrism Mass with the Cardinal all rather plain. Good progress on the drawing. Joyce Grenfell. Repair shop.

Vigil

 Saturday a memorable day. SM walk in Muswell Hill. To Parliament and met up with Kate, Lyn and Graham. So many people and buggies! The tourist trade has clearly revived. Glad I took my chair and the 2 hours went quickly. Ecological Stations and Rosary and Laudate Deum meditation. William Rhind and animators came. Sean and Ciaran came and Louise and Tom went to a party in Coulsdon. We went to Mass and I spoke to the lady from CAFOD. Petition nearly at 1000! Sunday Lent 1 Played Demessieux on Attende domine which Linda and I sang. Prelude and fughetta Franck. A mosy enjoyable family lunch at Westow House. Lamb and lemon posset. Had a sleep! Evensong Howells Like as the hart. Wierd hymn Christian dost thou see them to St Andrew of Crete by Dykes. Throwdown was good. Ben Fogle in the Congo. Antiques roadshow.
