Photos from Ann from our Wurzburg holiday

On the bridge, at the Residenz and outside our favourite coffee shop, at the station. Ann and Paul set off on their travels soon after 3 months which has gone quickly!

Lovely photgraphs. Think you are very brave to go to Germany, something I know I could never face in my lifetime. I was too traumatized by Germans during the war. If I hear German being spoken I begin to shake with fear. Such are the terrible effects of war. Although aware of it consciously, and I do try to speak to German tourists, I eventually have to end the friendly chat in order to compose myself. Recall going to Jersy on holiday and visiting the underground German hospital. I again had to exit quickly to be met by one of the guides who said she recognised what my problem was as many folk my age cannot cope with the sounds in the exhibition. I resort to praying. Graeme.
My generation born just after the war tend to forget that the previous generation suffered so much. I have friends who suffered in Japanese camps. We must never forget how awful war is. I must say it is hard to justify the bombing of Wurzburg and Dresden in 1945. Neither were of military importance. It looks more like revenge for London and Coventry. Praying is the best answer and praying for peace and reconciliation is so important.
