Jean Bartlett

One year after the funeral of Mum and Dad we attended the funeral at St John's Upper Norwood of Jean Bartlett. Mum and Dad had a very happy stay with her in 1991 and remained in touch with her. In the end she became very deaf but she always loved music. Adrian had chosen the Faure Requiem, Elgar Ave maris stella and the Hallelujah chorus made a splendid end. There were excellent refreshments and it was good to meet Sue Carroll again. The hymns were "O thou who camest from above" and "All my hope on God is founded". We heard from a family friend who through Jean's prayers came to accept Christ!
We returned home to load up the 2 cars with the flowers, wedding dress, music and tape recorder which we took to Travelodge Kew. We then went to Louise and Tom's to pick them up and proceed to Joanne's (Tom's sister) off Ladbroke Grove where we met Roger and Helen Maher at last. What lovely people! Cara (Tom's niece) was very excited and delighted by her gifts.
