Woke at 3.30 but went back to bed and woke at 7 so had a lie-in reading Kubu and finished the third novel - excellent. To Battersea Park library to pick up reserved scores and reading group folk were there. The care home next door has been replaced by a modern block! To Royal College of Music for Mary King on Brahms Requiem - acres of altos. Tenor next to me from Hackney - Gary. Is aid he should join a chorus. Enjoyed the session - quite a lot of time on 'Wie lieblich'. I was first in queue. Got 70 bus to South Kensington and got passport photos one - £10 for 6. The afternoon concert was CBSO Dvorak, Verdi, Tchaikovsky, Strauss. Not impressed by the soprano but the strings were excellent. To cathedral and Fr Archer was on. Appeal by the Spiritan father who got up too soon for the Gospel. Scottish. We got in for the Prom. Schumann 4 and Brahms Requirm. The pro choir spoilt it and the period instruments sounded hard, Tenors showed no understanding of the piece.

Vigil

 Saturday a memorable day. SM walk in Muswell Hill. To Parliament and met up with Kate, Lyn and Graham. So many people and buggies! The tourist trade has clearly revived. Glad I took my chair and the 2 hours went quickly. Ecological Stations and Rosary and Laudate Deum meditation. William Rhind and animators came. Sean and Ciaran came and Louise and Tom went to a party in Coulsdon. We went to Mass and I spoke to the lady from CAFOD. Petition nearly at 1000! Sunday Lent 1 Played Demessieux on Attende domine which Linda and I sang. Prelude and fughetta Franck. A mosy enjoyable family lunch at Westow House. Lamb and lemon posset. Had a sleep! Evensong Howells Like as the hart. Wierd hymn Christian dost thou see them to St Andrew of Crete by Dykes. Throwdown was good. Ben Fogle in the Congo. Antiques roadshow.
