The new statue of the beloved Pope outside the church of St Anthony of Padua in Isatnbul where he was the priest. He is named as "Friend of the Turkish people".

Didn't realise you had been in Turkey. You are brave, as it is a Muslim country; surprised you received no hostility as a Christian. Sounds wonderful; wish to visit Ephesis and experience what Paul mist have experienced in the Ampitheatre.

No, I lost contact with Rob a long time ago when he just ignored all my comments. I think it's often difficult for gay folk to respond, especially a man in his key position. Think he gets bogged down with gay folk demanding of his understanding of them, altghough I knew he had planned the Iona trip as I had giev him travel details and where to stay in Georgian Glasgow. Nothing but a warm welcome everywhere! Ephesus is well worth visiting. Rob is usually good about responding but he does work very hard.

Vigil

 Saturday a memorable day. SM walk in Muswell Hill. To Parliament and met up with Kate, Lyn and Graham. So many people and buggies! The tourist trade has clearly revived. Glad I took my chair and the 2 hours went quickly. Ecological Stations and Rosary and Laudate Deum meditation. William Rhind and animators came. Sean and Ciaran came and Louise and Tom went to a party in Coulsdon. We went to Mass and I spoke to the lady from CAFOD. Petition nearly at 1000! Sunday Lent 1 Played Demessieux on Attende domine which Linda and I sang. Prelude and fughetta Franck. A mosy enjoyable family lunch at Westow House. Lamb and lemon posset. Had a sleep! Evensong Howells Like as the hart. Wierd hymn Christian dost thou see them to St Andrew of Crete by Dykes. Throwdown was good. Ben Fogle in the Congo. Antiques roadshow.
